welcome

Hello, I’m Maria — and I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m the founder of Mind Body Breath Healing, a certified Somatic Breathwork Facilitator, yoga teacher, and a student of Compassionate Inquiry®, the trauma-informed approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté.

My mission is to create supportive spaces and nurturing containers where women can feel seen, held, witnessed, and supported as they reconnect with themselves. Spaces that invite growth, self-reclamation, nourishment, and flourishing.

This work was born from my own journey of transformation over the past six years. Through yoga, breathwork, somatic practices, self-inquiry, and immersive experiences within Māori indigenous wisdom in Aotearoa (New Zealand), I began to reconnect with a deeper way of living — one that beautifully echoed the connection, reverence, and wisdom found within our own Celtic roots.

Alongside a successful career in sales and marketing within the corporate technology sector, I was quietly walking another path — one of healing, growth, and self-discovery. Having experienced the demands of high-pressure environments, from corporate life to the fast-paced world of hospitality, I witnessed firsthand how stress, burnout, anxiety, and disconnection can slowly pull us away from ourselves.

While I appeared successful on the outside, I knew something essential was missing.

That inner calling led me towards breathwork, nervous system awareness, somatic healing, and a deeper exploration of the patterns and beliefs that shape our lives. Through my own healing journey, I came to understand that many of the ways we think, feel, and respond are not flaws to be fixed, but adaptations that once helped us survive.

This understanding continues to deepen through my studies in Compassionate Inquiry®, which explores how unconscious patterns, emotional wounds, and protective behaviours can gently be brought into awareness through curiosity, compassion, and presence.

Over time, I learned that healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about remembering who we are beneath the conditioning, expectations, fear, and self-doubt. It is about reclaiming our authenticity, reconnecting with our inner wisdom, and creating space for more joy, freedom, and self-trust.

Today, I weave together breathwork, somatic practices, meditation, movement, sound, nervous system education, and reflective inquiry to support others on their own journey home to themselves.

Whether through 1:1 sessions, workshops, retreats, classes, or group programmes, my intention is never to fix or force change, but to create safe and supportive spaces where transformation can unfold naturally.

At the heart of my work is the belief that what we seek already exists within us — wisdom, resilience, love, abundance, and an innate capacity to heal and grow. Sometimes we simply need the right conditions to remember.

The breath remains one of my greatest teachers. It continually reminds us that no matter where we are in life, we can return to the present moment, reconnect with ourselves, and begin again.

After several years in New Zealand, my journey brought me full circle back home to Ireland in 2024. It feels like a homecoming in every sense — a return to my roots, my community, and the work I feel most called to share.

I look forward to welcoming you into this space.

"To know yourself as the Being underneath the thinker, the stillness underneath the mental noise, the love and joy underneath the pain, is freedom." — Eckhart Tolle

About Soma Breathwork.

Soma Breathwork is a science-backed, holistic practice that combines ancient breathing techniques, somatic movement, and music-driven meditation to promote deep relaxation, emotional release, and mental clarity. It’s ancient wisdom fused with modern science — helping you move energy through the body, elevate your mood, and create positive habits while releasing stress and emotional blockages.

At its core, Soma Breath is a powerful fusion of rhythmic breathing patterns, CO₂ and oxygen regulation, and guided visualizations, designed to reset the nervous system, improve overall health, and help you feel more alive, connected, and resilient.

the science behind it:

As infants, we breathe deeply and naturally with our diaphragm. Over time, stress and environmental factors shift our breathing patterns to shallow chest breathing — a survival response that, if left unchecked, can lead to chronic stress, anxiety, fatigue, and immune suppression.

Stress causes shallow breathing — and shallow breathing, in turn, triggers stress. This loop can contribute to a wide range of health issues, including adrenal fatigue, poor cognitive function, low energy, and cellular aging.

By practicing diaphragmatic breathing — often guided through Soma Breath techniques and inspired by practices like Yoga and Pranayama — we can regulate the nervous system, improve heart rate variability, and promote both mental and physical wellbeing.

Benefits of Soma Breath:

🌿 Reduce stress, anxiety, and blood pressure
⚡ Improve focus, energy levels, and immune function
🏃‍♀️ Enhance athletic performance, recovery, and endurance
🌀 Support emotional regulation and resilience
⏳ Promote detoxification and longevity
